Shopping spree on Alibaba's Tmall: In numbers

Alibaba achieved record high sales of 213.5 billion yuan ($30.7 billion) during its annual shopping spree on Nov 11, which was also the 10th anniversary of its global shopping festival.

The 24-hour event, also known as Double 11 or Singles Day, falls on Nov 11 every year.

Gross Merchandise Volume: 213.5 billion yuan

The Tmall's GMV smashes the 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion) threshold in just two minutes and five seconds, faster than three minutes and one second last year.

Tmall breaks the 100 billion yuan sales threshold within 1 hour 47 minutes and 26 seconds, seven hours faster than last year's record.

As of 12:00 on Nov 11, 167 brands in Tmall register a volume of transaction over 100 million yuan, reaching the all-day level last year. By the end of Nov 11, the brands numbers increased to 237.
